Why is my live product underperforming, and which fix comes first?

Usually not because the problems are unknown, but because they are unranked: a long list, and no agreement on which item is costing you money. A Product Audit takes 2 weeks, costs €4,500, and ends with a ranked list of what to fix, in what order, and why.

€4,500

Duration: 2 weeks

Moderated user testing with 5 participants available as an add-on, plus €2,000

Who is a Product Audit for, and who is it not for?

Live products with real traffic, where conversion, retention, or the feedback you get is out of proportion to the work going in. Also product teams who already suspect something is wrong but have no capacity to find out what.

Not for an idea with no working product behind it: there is nothing to walk, and a Product Clarity Day answers that faster and for less, at €1,500 for one day. Not for teams who want the fixes carried out either. That is a Build, from €12,000. This audit ends at the decision, not at the code.

What do you get for €4,500?

Six things, all of them in writing, all of them yours to keep after the 2 weeks.

  • A machine scan of performance, accessibility, and technical health
  • Your three most important user flows walked by hand, marked screen by screen
  • A ranked fix list, grouped into fix now, fix next, and fix later
  • For every item: the technical cause, what the user feels, and the steps to fix it
  • A 90-minute walkthrough with your team, recorded
  • The one item I would fix first, named, with the reason it outranks the rest

How do the 2 weeks actually run?

2 weeks with a fixed end date, and two sessions that need you in the room.

  1. Week 1: scan and walk

The technical scan runs first. A scanning tool I built covers performance, accessibility, and technical health with expert precision; it is the same engine that powers theuxbites. Then we agree on the three core user flows, and I walk them to combine those automated findings with real user and business context.

  2. Week 2: rank and hand over

The findings become a prioritized roadmap based on technical impact and business urgency. We close with the 90-minute walkthrough, recorded, so your team gets the full context behind every decision. Automated scans find technical facts fast; aligning them with your product strategy is what you are paying for.

What is not included?

Four things, and each one has somewhere else to go.

  • Carrying out the fixes. That is a Build, from €12,000
  • Moderated user testing with 5 participants. Optional add-on to this audit, plus €2,000
  • Design files or a visual redesign. The list says what to change, not how it should look
  • More than three user flows. Three is the limit that keeps the audit to 2 weeks

Questions

Business context. A scan detects technical issues, but it cannot know your business priorities. I walk the three flows, evaluate the findings in your specific business context, and map them into the order that makes the most financial sense. If automated technical insights are all you need, you can run the scan yourself on theuxbites.

Two sessions and two pieces of access. The sessions are a kickoff call where we agree on the three flows, and the 90-minute walkthrough at the end. In between I need a test account and read access to your analytics if you have it. No access to your codebase.

No. The list is written so your own developers can work from it, and plenty of clients do exactly that. If everything in fix now turns out to be small, I will say so, and a Build would be the wrong call.

What comes before and after a Product Audit?

Most people arrive from one of two places: a scan they ran themselves on theuxbites, or a Product Clarity Day that concluded the problem sits in the live product, not in the plan. After the audit, a Build carries out what the list groups under fix now, in two-week phases, from €12,000. Book this audit within 30 days of a Product Clarity Day and the full €1,500 comes off the €4,500. That credit is applied once.

Want to run the scan yourself first?

You can, and the scanner is already a product. The same engine runs theuxbites on a subscription: it checks your live site and explains each finding in plain language. It is the machine pass that opens week 1 of an audit, and I wrote it myself.
